Delete Your Account

We’re sorry to see you go. Here’s how to remove your Katha account and what happens to your data.

1How to delete your account

You can delete your account directly within the Katha app:

  1. 1.Open the Katha app on your device.
  2. 2.Tap the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.
  3. 3.Scroll to the bottom and tap “Delete My Account”.
  4. 4.Read the confirmation dialog, then type DELETE to confirm.
  5. 5.Your account and data will be permanently removed.

What gets deleted

  • ×Your audio recordings and transcripts
  • ×Your profile and account information
  • ×Your comments and reactions
  • ×Your membership in all family albums

What may be retained

  • •Stories you choose to keep for your family (anonymized as “Former Member”)
  • •Anonymized analytics data (up to 90 days, if you opted in)

Can’t access the app?

Email us at kathalabs.help@gmail.com with the email address associated with your Katha account. We will process your deletion request within 7 business days.
